I came to RLT with my wife (then girlfriend) over 15 years ago! We led the very first Water and Rocks trip together. After leading a few more trips, I started working for RLT in the winter months, developing curriculum and managing logistics for a number of years. I was also a wilderness EMT and worked part-time on the ambulance service in upstate NY. I loved the EMT work so much, I decided to make it a career and went on to medical school. I expected to go into emergency medicine and be a basecamp doctor, but decided I liked working with kids WAY more (go figure after 10 years in the field with RLT kids!). When Jim and Donna asked, I jumped at the chance to be their Medical Director. Although I am not in the field anymore, being the medical director helps me stay connected with RLT, the outdoors, and the adventure travel that has shaped my life.
