Since growing up in the Midwest and receiving his degree in Environment & Natural Resources from The Ohio State University, Max has fulfilled his self-prophecy of working outside. In the past, he has instructed paddling in the Great Lakes Region, taught environmental science in the Coastal Redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains, and spent a year running a lighthouse hostel on the Pacific Ocean. Since, Max has relocated to Chicago where he will be surfing less, while still reading, writing, and exploring wilderness when and wherever possible.
In 2013, Max led our Aloha 'Aina program in Hawaii and Conservation is the Key in the Florida Keys. In 2014, he led a dive trip in Bonaire, followed by a session with the wolves on Call of the Wild in Colorado. Now the Logistics Director for RLT, Max brings his expertise from the field (and lots of inner sunshine) to the Road Less Traveled office.
