Making the choice to join a RLT Service Learning and Language program is a commitment to yourself, to others, and to your ability to shape the future. On our summer language programs, we practice conversational skills in “real life” situations, gaining confidence and breaking down barriers. We grow as global citizens, and through community service we have the opportunity to contribute to the world in new and meaningful ways. We travel the world, create change, immersing ourselves in places average tourists have never heard of and few will ever see.

On an RLT Service Learning program, you may find yourself in the restoring native plants on the island of Kauai or maybe building an orphanage in Lai, India, or perhaps helping to rebuild New Orleans Ninth Ward, where so much work is still to be done. Wherever you go, you will be where help is wanted, and where both the people and place can benefit from your presence. Together we inspire each other to act and make a difference. We create change, immersing ourselves in places average tourists have never heard of and few will ever see.

With the goal of sparking a love for adventure and the great outdoors, our NEW Global Perspectives programs for students grades 6-8 inspire while challenging us through exciting hands-on adventures! By encouraging one another to step outside our comfort zones and maximize our potential we expand our horizons and new-found self confidence in creative and fascinating ways!

There is no substitute for being outdoors. Explore some of the most extraordinary places in the world, paddling, hiking, biking, and climbing. Examine the nature of things up close, get a little mud on your shoes, and find a sense of purpose. You will look better, feel stronger, and breathe easier, guaranteed.

At its core, leadership is about building relationships—growing connections that allow for collective thinking and action. Our exploration of leadership is built on trust rather than authority. Together we learn communication skills, stages of group development, mediation, and become certified Wilderness First Responders.
