Making the choice to join a RLT Service Learning and Language program is a commitment to yourself, to others, and to your ability to shape the future. On our summer language programs, we practice conversational skills in “real life” situations, gaining confidence and breaking down barriers. We grow as global citizens, and through community service we have the opportunity to contribute to the world in new and meaningful ways. We travel the world, create change, immersing ourselves in places average tourists have never heard of and few will ever see.

On an RLT Service Learning program, you may find yourself in the restoring native plants on the island of Kauai or maybe building an orphanage in Lai, India, or perhaps helping to rebuild New Orleans Ninth Ward, where so much work is still to be done. Wherever you go, you will be where help is wanted, and where both the people and place can benefit from your presence. Together we inspire each other to act and make a difference. We create change, immersing ourselves in places average tourists have never heard of and few will ever see.

Our Middle School programs combine introductory travel experiences with fun, exciting, comfortable living situations for students completing grades 6 through 8. With the goal of inspiring a love for new environments and the outdoors, we prepare, engage, and challenge one another through hands-on service learning and outdoor adventures. Under the guidance of leaders who recognize the individual uniqueness of middle schoolers, young students thrive in new and exciting ways. By encouraging each other to step outside our comfort zones and see our potential, we expand our horizons and new-found self confidence in creative and fascinating ways--—all while having the time of our lives.

Come explore some of the most extraordinary places in the world with us. Paddle a raft through a canyon gorge filled with frothy whitewater, sea kayak through a majestic fjord, hike a snow-covered peak, climb a craggy rock face, or build a sandcastle on the tallest dunes in North America. You’ll find the lessons learned on a windswept bluff are as important as those conveyed in a high school classroom.
