Everglades National Park is a two million acre sub tropic wilderness, the largest in the US. The Park provides refuge to over 350 different species of bird and protects over 15 endangered animals. Working along side park rangers, service projects include: Cutting down and removing invasive species of plants, helping with the Everglades recycling program, working on painting projects, helping remove old fencing, installing park benches, and helping cleanup obsolete research stations in the backcountry.
Our sea kayak trip takes place in a special area of the Everglades. We’ll learn about the ecosystem and conservation efforts that are ongoing at the Park and, after docking our kayaks, hike into a cypress dome to experience the beautiful balance between flora and fauna and how each part of this ecosystem relies on another.

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I —
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference. – Robert Frost
