Julia grew up in the Great Lakes state of Michigan and spent summers wake boarding, wake surfing, and stand up paddle boarding on Upper Straits Lake. She moved west after high school and graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Medical Anthropology and Global Health with plans to pursue a career as a nurse. Every weekend was spent rock climbing, skiing, biking, surfing, backpacking, mountaineering, and exploring Seattle. Since, she has worked as a rock climbing instructor teaching in the climbing gym and around the Cascade mountains of Washington State. Eager to do it all, she can be found climbing a mountain, in the kitchen with a new recipe, “cragging” with friends, dancing to some good tunes, or on the floor getting heaps of kisses from her adorable rescue pup named Dana. After graduating a quarter early she took off for three months backpacking and climbing throughout Southeast Asia. In her free time, she loves to scuba dive, explore the world, try new things, and learn new languages. Julia is excited to join the RLT family, and spread her love for sustainability and the great outdoors!
