Julie (though most people call her "Sushi") is originally from Dallas, Texas and graduated from American University where she studied international relations and physics. She developed an early passion for traveling and has studied, worked, and adventured all over the world. Recent escapades have taken her backpacking through Southern Africa after finishing her Peace Corps service in beautiful Lesotho, eating all the street food while wandering through Southeast Asia, and working for a small organic farm in Hawaii. For the spring season, she is working as an outdoor education instructor in Hong Kong, teaching students science, leadership, and outdoor skills. A lifelong gymnast, she can often be found doing handstands anywhere. Her other hobbies include SCUBA diving, surfing, hiking, rock climbing, photography, and trying any new outdoor activity with good friends. She had a blast leading RLT's marine conservation-focused trips to Belize and Bonaire in summer 2018, and she is pumped for another great summer!

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I —
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference. – Robert Frost
