Katie is a lover of nature, culture, travel, and all living things (big or small)! She graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Anthropology and Sustainability. She is continuing to pursue these subjects, getting her master's in human-environmental relationships at the University of Oxford this fall. Katie believes the best way to learn is to experience things yourself, leading her to many adventures over the years! While in school, she participated in an archeological excavation on an abandoned island off the coast of Ireland, spent several months traveling through Western Europe while studying abroad in London, and spent a summer working at National Geographic headquarters in Washington, D.C. After graduating, Katie spent time teaching students about archeology and indigenous Pueblo history in southwestern Colorado, and most recently has been working at the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage. She continues to travel as much as possible, and enjoys hiking, swimming, scuba diving, and anything that takes her outdoors! Katie can't wait to spend her first summer with Road Less Travelled, and looks forward to sharing a fantastic travel experience with her participants!
