The mission of The Road Less Traveled is to provide young adults with a unique experience that nurtures their physical and intellectual growth through the development of wilderness skills, environmental education, community service and cultural awareness. RLT runs dozens of trips every summer all over the world, and our office staff in Chicago works hard throughout the year and in the summer to ensure that these trips run smoothly and safely. Each year we seek motivated, dedicated, and competent interns. In turn, these interns gain valuable experience in the field of adventure travel. All internships involve professional-level tasks that prepare for future employment in any office-setting.
Our paid summer internships require a commitment of 6-10 weeks and are available in the months of May, June, July, and August. Semester internships and other opportunities are also available during the remainder of the year. Interns generally work from 40-55 hours per week, and alternate schedules are available with advanced arrangements. Interns are responsible for all travel and housing costs and arrangements.
