In 2018, Xavier participated in a women’s empowerment project in Mahabo, Madagascar, that consisted of expanding female entrepreneurship and teaching a comprehensive sexual education program. Originally from Prospect Heights, Illinois, Xavier graduated in 2019 from Washington University in St. Louis, where he studied psychology and participated in various outdoor communities. During his undergraduate years, Xavier was a Wilderness Project leader, a pre-orientation that focuses on creating an open community in the context of hiking and camping. Xavier now works for Gateway to the Great Outdoors, a program that promotes outdoor accessibility and environmental education to underserved St. Louis public school students. In his free time, Xavier loves to rock climb, beat box, and learn how to live a more sustainable lifestyle!
