As parents, finding reliable, meaningful opportunities for middle schoolers is a huge challenge. My son has now had two experiences with Road Less Traveled, one domestic and one international, and I can’t say enough good things about the company, their leaders, and the quality of the experiences they provide. They give kids a chance to connect with each other without their phones keeping them from being present, while still involving the parents by offering in-depth recaps of what the kids are experiencing several times a week with tons of photos and feedback. In both cases, the leaders were conscientious and really connected with the kids. The volunteer opportunities do more than just check boxes: they offer kids a real hand in doing something truly meaningful without being disruptive to the communities they serve. I’d recommend RLT to anyone looking for something a little out of the box and memorable for their kids in the summer.
